PW Uniform

The Pig War uniform standard is specific to #1859 based upon the guidelines set forth by SAMS National Dress Code prior to 2021.

This initial uniform is designed to have a modern and professional style.  The intention is to establish a unique appearance that helps to set Pig War apart from most pipe & drum band uniforms.  This uniform keeps affordability in mind for new and current members.

There are two dress numbers; this will be indicated in advance of an event by the Post Commander.  For the good appearance of the Post, members are expected to adhere to the uniform standard without personal substitutions.

Members are expected to supply their own uniforms (kilt, blouse, etc) and fully compensate for articles supplied to them by the Quartermaster, other members, or the Post.  1859, and SAMS, is a “tartan” group — meaning that members wear the kilt they have, we do not all match.  More detail about wearing the Pig War SAMS uniform will be provided to members upon joining our Post.
