The Colour Guard carries the national colour and other flags appropriate to SAMS. When Pig War is on parade, the Colour Guard is followed by Post and other SAMS marching members. The colour guard consists of Post members and is commanded by the Colour Sergeant. The Colour Sergeant gives the necessary commands for movements and rendering honours during drill exercises, parades, and ceremonies (etc).

The Colour Guard is comprised of the:

• Colour Sergeant
• Colour Specialist (Assistant Colour Sergeant)
• Regimental Sergeant Major, as necessary
• Colour Bearers
• Banner Bearers
• Marching members of Pig War and SAMS members
